£ — a currency of pure sentiment

Sterling faith.
Zero collateral.

While regulated stablecoins spend their days defending a peg, Ponsterling spends its days climbing away from one. One token, one vibe, one increasingly implausible chart.

01 — The thesis

Every other stablecoin is trying not to move.
We only go one way.

A face wearing glasses with pound-sign lenses, pressing a finger to its lips
Our Head of Investor Relations, declining to comment on the reserve.

Dollar-pegged stablecoins are built to sit exactly at $1.00 forever, propped up by collateral, audits, and a great deal of faith in institutions nobody asked to trust. Ponsterling skips all of that. There is no peg to defend, so there is nothing to lose defending it.

Instead, £ is engineered to respond to the same force every currency already responds to — belief — except we've stopped pretending belief needs a reserve account behind it. When faith in fiat goes down, our chart, coincidentally, goes up.

Is this a joke? Obviously. Is the chart real? Also yes. That's the whole project.

02 — The stability premium curve

As faith in fiat falls, one of these lines is not supposed to do this.

A rough sketch of collateral-backed value versus vibes-backed value, plotted against the one input that actually seems to move markets lately.

Stability premium curve A line chart plotting value against falling faith in fiat currency. USDG, a collateral-backed stablecoin, declines smoothly from about $1.00 toward zero as faith in fiat falls. Ponsterling (£) starts near zero, then rises in a jagged, volatile climb, crossing above the $1.00 line and continuing upward as faith in fiat keeps falling. $1.00 peg USDG PONSTERLING (£) Value High Faith in fiat currency Low

05 — Roadmap

A timeline. Loosely.

Phases are sequential because we wrote them in order, not because phase two depends on phase one.

  1. 01

    Deploy contract, deploy vibes

Token goes live. Chart goes up because it starts at zero and anything is up from zero.

  2. 02

    Convince three friends

    Community-building, defined narrowly.

  3. 03

    Undefined middle phase

Every roadmap needs one step that is mostly a placeholder for "things go well."

  4. 04

    Sterling flips the pound

A joke, a target, and the only KPI that matters here.

06 — FAQ

Questions people actually asked in the chat.

Is Ponsterling backed by anything? +

No. That is not a gap in the plan, it is the plan. Traditional stablecoins are backed by reserves so they can sit still. Ponsterling has no reserves, so it has nothing tying it down.

Is this real financial advice? +

No. This page is satire about stablecoin design and Ponzi-shaped charts, built as a joke, not a pitch. Nothing on this page is investment, legal, or financial advice, and no one should send money to anyone because of a comic-strip currency. If you're weighing an actual investment decision, talk to a licensed financial adviser and read primary sources, not a meme site.

Who runs Ponsterling? +

A Chief Vibes Officer and a Head of Investor Relations, both of whom are coins wearing accessories. Org chart available on request; org chart is one line long.

What happens when faith in fiat goes back up? +

Great question. The roadmap does not currently cover this scenario.
